I'm Karen. I look after a small group of regular dogs in my Carina townhouse, so I always know your dog, I know how you like things done, and I can nearly always say yes.
About me
Brisbane born and bred, with dogs all my life
I've spent my whole life in Brisbane, starting in Annerley, then Robertson, then MacGregor, and now Carina, where I live in a townhouse. My beautiful husband Pieter and I raised three beautiful children, Bradley, Melissa and Grant, and there's always been an animal in the house.
German Shepherds, Maltese, Silky Terriers, cats, birds, fish, guinea pigs. I've had the works. I love all animals, but dogs have always been my favourite.
Why I keep my client list small
I'd rather know a few dogs really well than lots of dogs a little. I get to know you and how you want your dog looked after, and your dog gets to know me. Most of all, when you need a sitter, I want to be able to say yes.

Questions people ask
Where will my dog stay?
At my townhouse in Carina. Your dog stays with me in a home, not a kennel.
How much does it cost?
$60 per 24 hours (minimum 1 day), $350 for a full week, or $1,360 for a month.
What do I need to bring?
Your dog’s food, bed, toys, treats and any medicine, plus any advice or rules you have for your dog.
Will my dog ever be left alone?
Sometimes, for an hour or two while I pop out to the shops, so your dog needs to be comfortable on their own for that long.
Which dogs are a good fit?
Dogs that are toilet trained, safe around people, lead trained, and know sit, stay and come.
Why do you only take a small number of clients?
So I really get to know each dog and owner, and so I can say yes when you need me.
Can you give my dog medication?
Bring the medication with clear instructions and we’ll go through it together at drop-off.
Can we meet before booking?
Yes. Give me a call and we’ll arrange a time for you and your dog to come and say hello.
How far ahead should I book?
As soon as you know your dates, especially for school holidays and Christmas.
Do you look after other pets?
I love all animals, but my focus is dogs. Give me a call and ask.
Which suburbs do you cover?
I’m in Carina, handy for Carindale, Camp Hill, Coorparoo, Cannon Hill, Mansfield, Carina Heights and nearby suburbs. As long as you're happy to drive to Carina, I'm happy to look after your dog.
